Our Global Quest:
Purpose Odyssey isn't just a travel blog; it's a declaration of our shared pursuit of purpose and passion. Together, we'll embark on an adventure that spans continents, starting in the warmth of Latin America and weaving our way through the enchanting landscapes of Europe, the bustling markets of Southeast Asia, and finally the pristine beauty of Oceania.

Budget-Friendly, Eco-Friendly Adventures:
I plan on doing it on a budget, embracing the simplicity of life and leaving a positive impact on the planet. Our eco-friendly adventures involve staying with locals, immersing ourselves in their stories, and learning from the unique tapestry of cultures that make up our world. I plan on working within eco-villages, hostels, social organizations, and more. I know the idea of full time travel can be daunting, especially when it comes to your wallet. My goal is to make it clear that travel can be accessible to anyone, if it's truly what they desire. Sure, you may not be staying in the most luxurious of resorts, but you can get a taste of what life's really like outside of your own bubble, and not only make an impact on yourself, but maybe others too!

A Hub of Inspiration:
Purpose Odyssey is more than a travel diary; it's a community, a hub of inspiration, and a catalyst for change. Through captivating stories, insightful interviews, and personalized coaching, we're not just exploring the world – we're exploring the depths of our own purpose. Tag along for my our podcast "The Purpose Odyssey" where I tell not only my own story, but those who I meet on my travels who decided to follow their own dreams, even if it wasn't considered the social norm. If I can inspire only one person to break out of the cage of societal expectations, I'll be beyond any impact I could have once imagined.

About Me
Hey there, fellow wanderers! I'm Sydney Halajian, the heart and soul behind Purpose Odyssey. I'm thrilled to have you join me on this journey of a lifetime! I'm a 25-year-old explorer, dreamer, and firm believer in the magic that happens when you follow your heart. From the cobblestone streets of Latin America to the vibrant markets of Southeast Asia, my journey is all about chasing what my intuition that has been echoing in my soul since childhood. I've always found myself to be a bit different then those I grew up with. I viewed life as the biggest adventure out there, I felt as though I needed to experience every corner of this Earth, talk to every person, and create community for those who have been searching.

When I was 18 years-old and graduated high school, I immediately packed my bags and headed to Cusco, Peru, a place I've dreamt of since being a wee gal. You see, my parents loved taking road trips across the United States, but were absolutely terrified of the idea of stepping foot in another country, let alone hemisphere. So of course, in classic teenage fashion, this was my response as I gained my independence. Since then, I graduated college, and followed with a program called AmeriCorps NCCC that absolutely changed my life (read more on my blog post). And then everything came to a standstill once I reached 24. Everyone around me had gotten their "adult" jobs and started settling down, causing me to feel pressure to do the same. Thus I did just that, and only lasted about a year...
Welcome to The Purpose Odyssey: Your Passport to Purposeful Living
Now, at 25, I've come to a point where I know, just as much as I did as child, that I was meant to do something out of the ordinary. I feel my calling to explore the world, connect others, and inspire those who want to do the same. I've left behind what others told me I was lucky to have, stability in the form of a full-time job, health care, and an apartment. Yes, although I did feel safe, my heart and mind felt empty and rid of all inspiration. So tag along, as I attempt to get these feelings back, and hopefully maybe you can strive for a brighter life as well.
